Scholarships in Nepal: Where to Look and How to Win

Government quotas, college scholarships, abroad options - plus the paperwork that wins them.

By DigitalNepal · Updated 2026-10-04

Scholarships reward preparation, not luck: mark sheets ready, documents attested, essays drafted and deadlines calendared months ahead.

Steps

1Map all three pools
Government/quota seats, college merit seats, and abroad programs each have separate notices and timelines.
2Prepare documents early
Citizenship, transcripts, recommendations and income proofs take weeks to assemble - start before notices drop.
3Apply to many
One application is a lottery ticket. Ten careful applications is a strategy.
4Verify every offer
Fake scholarship calls demand 'processing fees'. Real awards never ask for money to release funds.

Good to know: Beware consultancies guaranteeing scholarships for upfront fees. Verify every claim against the official provider notice.
