How to Calculate EV Charging Cost (Home vs Public Math)
Per-km math with tariff, efficiency and public premiums - plus the fuel tool shortcut.

Try it right here:
Fuel per day: 0.67 litres
Daily cost: Rs 0
Monthly cost: Rs 0
Fuel prices change often - enter the current pump rate. Smooth riding and correct tyre pressure improve real mileage.
EV cost per km = electricity rate × consumption per km. Home units are cheap; public fast charging multiplies it.
Steps
1Find your consumption
Check kWh/100km from the car or compute: units added ÷ km driven over a month.
2Multiply home tariff
Your NEA slab rate × consumption = home cost per km. Use the electricity bill tool for the tariff math.
3Add public premium separately
Fast chargers charge multiples of home rates. Budget trips with public pricing, not home pricing.
4Compare with fuel tool
Run the fuel-cost tool for your old vehicle and compare monthly totals honestly.
Good to know: Free-charger honeymoon pricing ends. Always compute with paid rates for buy decisions.
