MeroShare and IPO Guide: Investing Basics for Beginners
How MeroShare, DEMAT and IPO applications generally work in Nepal - without hype.

MeroShare is the online system for applying to IPOs and managing shares in Nepal, linked to your DEMAT account and bank (ASBA/CRN). This guide explains the flow; it is not investment advice.
Steps
1Open DEMAT and MeroShare
Open a DEMAT account with a licensed Depository Participant, then activate MeroShare login.
2Get your CRN from the bank
Link a bank account and obtain the C-ASBA registration number (CRN) for IPO payments.
3Apply during the issue window
Log into MeroShare during the IPO open dates, verify company details, and apply for your chosen quantity (kitta).
4Check allotment honestly
Oversubscribed IPOs allot by lottery. Only invest money you can afford to lock for years.
Good to know: Share prices can fall as well as rise. Never borrow to invest, and beware of 'guaranteed allotment' scams asking for money.
FAQ
How many kitta should beginners apply for?
Most beginners apply for the minimum (often 10 kitta). Read the prospectus summary first.
