ISP DNS is sometimes slow or hijacked to ad pages. Reputable public DNS fixes both in two minutes.
Steps
1Open adapter settings
Settings > Network > Wi-Fi/Ethernet > your network > DNS server assignment > Manual.
2Enter IPv4 DNS
Preferred 1.1.1.1, Alternate 1.0.0.1 (or 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4). Save.
3Flush old entries
Run ipconfig /flushdns in Command Prompt, then restart the browser.
4Verify it worked
Visit a DNS leak test page - it should show Cloudflare/Google, not your ISP.
Good to know: Do this on the ROUTER instead to fix every device at once - same addresses, router WAN/DHCP page.
FAQ
Gaming better?
Sometimes slightly - DNS only affects lookups, not ping. Use the ping tool to verify.
