Bluetooth Not Connecting? Fix Pairing Problems
Earbuds, speakers or watches fail to pair or keep disconnecting. Fix Bluetooth pairing step by step.
By DigitalNepal · Updated 2026-09-15
Bluetooth pairing fails mostly because the device is still connected to another phone, or the pairing list is corrupted. Resetting both sides fixes 90% of cases.
Steps
1Disconnect from the old device
Turn off Bluetooth on the phone or laptop the accessory was previously paired with.
2Put the accessory in pairing mode
Hold its button until the light blinks alternately (check the manual - each brand differs).
3Forget and re-pair
On your phone, forget the device in Bluetooth settings, then pair fresh.
4Restart both devices
A simple restart clears stuck Bluetooth stacks on phones and laptops.
5Reset network settings (last resort)
On phones, reset Wi-Fi/Bluetooth settings. You will need to re-enter Wi-Fi passwords after.
Good to know: Very cheap no-brand earbuds often have broken microphones and one-side audio - no setting can fix hardware defects.
FAQ
Why does audio stutter while walking?
Your body blocks the signal when the phone is in a back pocket. Keep the phone on the same side as the earbud receiver.
