How to Maintain an Electric Scooter (Battery-First Care)
Charging habits, tyres, brakes and monsoon care that double scooter life.
By DigitalNepal · Updated 2026-10-04
E-scooters need less servicing but stricter battery discipline: charge patterns decide whether the pack lasts 3 years or 6.
Steps
1Charge 20-80% daily
Full 100% only before long days. Avoid draining to zero - deep discharge ages packs fastest.
2Keep tyres hard
Soft tyres murder range and overwork the motor. Monthly pressure checks.
3Service brakes and bearings
Regen hides worn brakes. Inspect pads, cables and bearings on schedule.
4Monsoon-proof electrics
Avoid flooded stretches, dry charging ports, park covered. Water + high voltage dislikes surprises.
Good to know: Storing for weeks? Leave 50-60% charge in a cool dry place, not full and not empty.
